AT ATLAS COOLING TOWER

AT 1

To ensure 100% reliability for the high demands of critical cooling applications, the Atlas is highly engineered with quality components and manufactured to exacting standards. The durable materials of construction ensure the longevity expected of EVAPCO products. The cooling towers are designed in large modules for ease of installation and to reduce required field assembly labor. As the most energy efficient modular cooling tower on the market, the Atlas is unmatched in CTI Certified capacity per cell.

  • Factory assembled lead times meet field-erected capacities
  • Atlas arrives to site pre-assembled in modules and installs in a fraction of the time of field erected solutions
  • Ranging in capacity from 1,484-2,386 nominal tons per cell
  • Up to 60% more cooling capacity per cell*
  • Up to 40% less fan power per ton of cooling*
  • Reduced overall piping and electrical connections compared to projects with traditional factory assembled cooling towers
  • Site installation supervision available from factory-trained technicians
  • IBC Compliant – Independently certified by the International Building Code to withstand seismic and wind load forces in North America
  • Independently certified by the Cooling Technology Institute
  • Available with FM Approved construction
*compared to other factory assembled single-cell cooling towers

Warm water from the heat source is pumped to the water distribution system at the top of the tower. The water is distributed over the wet deck fill by means of large orifice EvapJetâ„¢ nozzles. Simultaneously, air is drawn in through the air inlet louvers at the base of the tower and travels upward through the wet deck fill opposite the water flow. A small portion of the water is evaporated which removes the heat from the remaining water. The warm moist air is drawn to the top of the cooling tower by the fan and discharged to the atmosphere. The cooled water drains to the basin at the bottom of the tower and is returned to the heat source. The vertical air discharge of the AT design and the distance between the discharge air and fresh air intakes reduces the chance of air recirculation, since the warm humid air is directed up and away From the unit.

Gear Driven Fan

  • Standard double reduction gearbox and driveshaft
  • Motor located outside air stream

EVAPAK® Fill

  • Constructed of inert polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
  • Resistant to rot or decay
  • Capable of water temperatures up to 130ºF (high temperature fill available)
  • Usable as an internal working platform
  • Flame spread rating less than 25 per ASTM E84
  • Low-fouling fill available for alternate water qualities

High-Efficiency Drift Eliminators

  • Limits the drift rate down to 0.0005% of the recirculating water rate
  • Reduces water loss during wet operation
  • Constructed of an inert polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

Superior Air Inlet Louver and Screen Design

  • Constructed of an inert polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
  • Water and Sight Tight (WST) design that minimizes splash-out and the potential for algae formation inside the tower
  • Framed in steel in easily removable sections

Pressurized Water Distribution System

  • Utilizes EVAPCO’s patented EvapJetâ„¢ nozzle for even water distribution
  • Constructed of schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe and ABS plastic nozzles
  • Piping is easily removed for cleaning
  • Nozzles are large orifice and have no moving parts, making them practically impossible to clog

Stainless Steel Cold Water Basin

  • Available in Type 304 or Type 316 Stainless Steel
  • Includes the entire basin area, including the support structure, vertical columns, louver frames and the plenum
  • Welded basin seams for leak-free operation

Stainless Steel Casing & Fan Section

  • Available in Type 304 or Type 316 Stainless Steel
  • Includes the entire upper section, including mechanical equipment support, fan cowl and fan guard

Maintenance Accessories

The AT Atlas product line is available with multiple equipment options to aid in the maintenance of the cooling tower. These options include:

  • External Service Platform
